I’ll be making you a variety of things; a meal with enough for leftovers, something to snack on, something warm to sip on and a nourishing and easily digestible soup.
You’ll be sent a list of options to choose from! There will be things like organ meat chili and wild rice casserole, along with more familiar meals like pumpkin soup and roasted chicken with veggies.

Bodywork: I graduated with honours from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in 2013, after which I began my 10 year career as an RMT in high-end spas in Calgary and Halifax. (Please note that I am NOT currently registered in NB and so I’m not currently offering therapeutic massage. This means that you won’t be able to claim my services through insurance).
My favourite type of massage to give is one that is deeply relaxing and nurturing, so that’s my focus with this service. Though this massage will be beneficial for general soreness, I won’t be assessing any injuries that you may have or offering specific homecare advice regarding those injuries.
I have a recent Criminal Record Check (including a vulnerable sector check) and am up to date with First Aid CPR Level C.
Postpartum Care: I am not a traditional postpartum doula and have no formal training or credentials in that area, although it’s been a focus of self-led study for me ever since I had my first son. I consider myself to be a community companion, serving grounding human touch and warm food just like so many people have done globally and throughout time. I’ve felt an obligation to people in the birth sphere ever since I became a mother, and postpartum is where I feel my skills and love will be most helpful.
Postpartum Meals: I have taken several online courses on this subject. The two that stand out most to me are Sacred Kitchen Fires by Raeanne Madison, MPH (of the now retired @postpartumhealinglodge), and Mama Baby Biome by Chef Kate Pope, FNTP. Kate still offers courses and resources @wildnutritionist on instagram.

For your postpartum massage I’ll be using “liquid sunshine” massage oil - this is a blend of sunflower oil, jojoba oil, and coconut oil. It’s nut-free and scent-free. I’ll also bring a couple of different essential oils for you to choose from if you’d like to incorporate a soothing scent into your treatment (this won’t be used topically), and warm towels to keep you cozy. You and baby are still one being, so I can’t use anything that would be harmful to that diad, especially on your skin!

No! We’ll do the massage in the room of your choosing - a room that can be dark would be ideal. I’ll need access to an outlet and a kitchen chair for the massage, but that’s it! I’ll bring everything else. I’ll also bring all-natural cleaning supplies with me so you don’t have to dig anything out.

Things happen! If you need to reschedule for any reason you absolutely can. If you’d like to reschedule everything including the meals, please give me a weeks notice so I can plan groceries accordingly. Otherwise I’ll simply prepare the food as planned and drop it off that week, with the massage and housework portion booked for whenever.
